Can you confirm if the tortillas, tortilla chips and sauces are processed in a nut, sesame and fish free facility?

There are NO nuts, sesame, peanuts, or fish at our facility. However, AlbaLisa Organic Flour Tortillas and Tortilla Chips contain Sunflower Oil.

Can I freeze the Tortillas?

Yes. The vacuum pack seal prevents them from freezer burn. You can thaw them out on your kitchen counter, in your fridge or in the microwave.

How many times can I refreeze the tortillas?

Tortillas can be refrozen once.

How do I cook the wheat flour par-baked tortillas?

You can cook the tortillas on a skillet at medium heat for about 20 seconds or until it bubbles. Flip it and let it cook until it bubbles and golden brown spots form.

Can I microwave the wheat flour tortillas?

The flour tortilla cannot be cooked in the microwave, but can be cooked in a toaster or grilled.

What can I do to keep the corn tortillas warm and soft?

If you want to keep your tortillas warm and soft, you first need to sprinkle with water or brush oil on the tortillas. Then, place them on a hot skillet. Let the tortilla heat up for about 20 seconds and flip only once. Heat it up for another 20 seconds or until the tortilla looks and feel soft. Immediately transfer the tortillas into a tea towel or a piece of aluminum foil. Keep them covered until you are ready to serve.

How long are the corn tortillas good after they have been thawed?

The corn tortillas are good for between 3-5 days in the fridge.

How long are the wheat flour tortillas good after they have been thawed?

The flour tortillas are good for between 10-15 days in the fridge.

What is the difference between the White and Yellow Corn Tortillas?

AlbaLisa White Corn Tortillas can be more tender and milder in taste than the Yellow Corn Tortillas. AlbaLisa Yellow Corn Tortillas are sweeter and have a stronger corn flavour. When introducing children to tortillas, we recommend you get them to try the White Corn Tortillas first.

Why is a yellow liquid found inside the bag of flour tortillas after thawing them out? 

The Wheat Flour Tortillas are made with sunflower oil. Sometimes, when the tortillas are vac-packed and then frozen, some of the oil gets squeezed out as they thaw out. When this happens, the tortillas are still good to eat.
